How can I watch the CLFC service live on my computer?
You must be on a computer with an active connection to the Internet for the duration of the live stream (webcast). Hi-speed connections are recommended, though the stream is accessible through dial-up.
Before attempting to join a live stream, make sure you have the latest Windows Media Player installed on your system (Windows or Mac).
At the beginning of CLFC service times (Sunday 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. and Wednesday 7:00 p.m., all EST) click the Live Stream link. Clicking the "CLFC Live!" link on this page will open Windows Media Player and then connect to the webcast. You Internet connection speed will be automatically detected.
The stream keeps stopping and starting. The video and audio are out of sync.
Several factors may cause the stream playback to experience skips and delays as is common in streaming:
- Your computer's processor speed and available memory. A faster computer and the more memory available will aid in displaying more continuous playback.
- Number of applications open on your computer. The more applications open and running at one time on your computer, the less resources that may be available to process the stream. Try closing other applications, or restarting your computer and then opening just the Live Stream.
- Internet connection. Increased traffic on a server may cause internet speed to lag at times and result in occasional drops in the stream. If you experience a disconnection, click the "CLFC Live!" link again to reconnect. If you are experiencing problems with your own connectivity, please contact your Internet Service Provider.
- Technical difficulties. When problems arise, we are prompt to make corrections and appreciate your patience.
Please know that we are continually working to make improvements to the quality of the Live Stream.
I'm on Vista and I receive only audio and no video.
This has recently come to our attention. This is a commonly reported bug with Vista and streaming on other sites as well. Some have recommended using an earlier version of Windows Media Player than the one currently available for Vista, but this has not been tested with the CLFC Live Stream. We are currently working on a solution and appreciate your patience.
Some Vista users may be able to view video in Full Screen mode.
When I click to open the stream, it plays in a program other than Windows Media Player.
If the stream opens in a player other than Windows Media Player, then the preferences of this software override that of the Windows Media Player. You will need to open the preferences of this software and disable any options to open .asx files so that the stream link will open directly in Windows Media Player. It is usually best to open the stream in Windows Media Player as other software may not display the video correctly.
If I miss a webcast, how may I view the service later?
Currently, the only way to catch a sermon is live during the live sermon webcast at the regular times, EST. Archive streaming is not a feature yet available on CLFC.com, but may be added in the near future.
We invite you to enjoy the available podcasts or to browse our selection of sermon series in Destiny Bookstore.
