Ushers
Description:
An usher in the church offers a service unto God by assisting in the worship service. An usher has particular acts to perform in this divine service, just as the minister, the musician, and the singers. This act of worship or service is done unto God, not unto men (Colossians 3:23). When the usher sees to it that an atmosphere of reverence and order is maintained before, during, and after service, it's done unto the Lord. All service, such as ushering worshipers to their seats, receiving or gathering the offering, ministering at the altar, or assisting with Communion makes it possible for others to be free to worship God during service. The usher plays a vital and valuable service to the Lord, assisting in and promoting the worship of God.
Schedule:
An usher is only required to work one service per week. No usher should work more than two services per week without being able to attend one service without working. If you are married you are required to attend one service (not working), seated with your spouse. Ushers may be asked to usher special events as needed.
Meetings:
Ushers are required to attend any scheduled usher meetings. Usher training meetings will be held every two months; any additional or special meetings will be announced with advanced notice.
