Mission:
The mission of the Nehemiah Ministry is to help those who are physically and/or financially unable to accomplish certain kinds of manual tasks.
Scope:
Work will include tasks such as: (Teams will work in pairs for every job)
- Moving household furniture
- Cleaning yards of fall debris
- Cleaning eaves troughs
- Changing/rotating tires
- Assembling furniture
- Minor automobile repair like changing plugs, etc.
- Miscellaneous around the house chores
- Telephone calls to the shut-in, incapacitated, and elderly (Women Only).
Examples of the work that cannot be done by this ministry include:
- Babysitting
- Repairing/replacing air conditioning units, heating units
- Rebuilding automobile motors
- Auto body repair
- Taxes
Process:
Individuals wanting to have work done must provide at least 5-working days notice, and fill out an application describing the tasks that are to be done. If necessary, an interview will be used to follow-up if more details are needed. In many cases, it will be necessary to sign a waver against liability.
Validation:
The Outreach Department Oversight Pastor will determine the validity and true necessity of the request before granting approval. If the request is determined valid, the oversight pastor will pass on the request package to the Nehemiah Ministry Leader for handling and additional information regarding the request. Invalid requests, or requests where the Nehemiah Ministry will not be able to help, will be relayed to the requesting parties within 5-working days.
Emergency Tasking:
Tasking requiring process time of less than 5-working days will only be approved by the Outreach Pastor, or as directed by the Senior Pastor or his office.
